The unseen triumphant/The unseen resurgent

Stevie writes:
"The phrase « je ne sais pas lire, je ne suis pas instruite, et pourtant je peux participer et contribuer comme les autres » (I don’t know how to read, I’m not educated, and yet I can participate and contribute like others) is paraphrased from a woman in southern Mali involved in a community peacebuilding project. Women in southern Mali are about as unseen as it gets in societal terms, and for someone who didn’t go to school to feel able to contribute to improving their community is a triumph. At the same time, I feel somewhat ambivalent about the idea of ‘triumph’ among people at the moment, when so much of the world is so polarised that it tends to imply one ‘triumphing’ over another. And then there’s the deep unease that ultimately we’re all being triumphed over by capitalism, particularly in the form of unaccountable tech gajillionaires. So, there you are. A robot speaking French. He really needs to work on his accent."
